The 2016 Dodge Charger marks the tenth year anniversary of the modern-day iteration, complete with athletic handling and strong road performance.

Depending on which of the eight available trim configurations you go with, you’ll get one of the three engine choices. The base-level SE and SXT are powered by a 3.6-liter V6 with 292 horsepower and 260 foot-pounds (lb-ft) of torque. On the R/T and R/T Road & Track is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, which has an output of 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque on the former and adjusted to 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque on the latter. And on the R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat, there is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8, which has an output of 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Each engine is hitched to an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission. You can switch the rear-wheel drive with an all-wheel drive layout for better traction, and fuel economy on the vehicle peaks at 19 miles per gallon (mpg) for city driving and 31 mpg for highway driving.

Designed as a full-size four-door sedan, the 2016 Dodge Charger has enough interior space for five occupants. Standard on the vehicle are power adjustability on the driver’s seat and leather shift knob. Upgrading can introduce additional features that include heating capability on the seats, illumination on the rear cup holders, and leather covering and steering-wheel heating capability.

Standard features, at least on the base level, on the 2016 Dodge Charger include Bluetooth® connectivity; remote keyless entry; a 7-inch multi-information display; power side mirrors; a six-speaker stereo system; dual exhaust; and 17-, 18-, or 20-inch alloy wheels. Upper-level trims have additional features like auto-dimming rearview mirror, HomeLink transceiver for remote-controlling garage doors, rear spoiler, fog lights, and heating capability on the side mirrors. The top-level SRT trims get GPS navigation, as well as the option of installing a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.

The 2016 Dodge Charger comes with dual front impact airbags that face the driver and front passenger, dual side impact airbags that are installed on the front seats, and dual side curtain airbags that are roof-mounted and flank both rows of seats. Other standard safety features include anti-lock braking (ABS) for preventing wheel lock-up when applying the brakes, electronic roll mitigation with electronic vehicle stability to maintain control in less-than-favorable driving conditions, and traction control for improving performance on surfaces made slippery by weather conditions. For security, the Charger has an electronic anti-theft system with an engine immobilizer.
